A HEG community project
Learning & Community Action
Everyone can play a part in looking after the place we call home.

- When
- Throughout the year — see What’s On
We work with local children, schools, youth groups, residents and volunteers to share practical skills and show that everyone can play a part in looking after the place we call home.
HEG is about doing, not just talking.
Growing a tomato. Sharing surplus food. Planting for pollinators. Making someone a cup of tea. Giving a book another life. Teaching a child how a seed grows. Volunteering for an hour. Helping a neighbour.
Individually, these might feel like small things. Together, they build a stronger, more connected and more resilient community. And everyone has something they can contribute.
Our learning work runs through everything else we do — a growing session that turns into a lesson about soil, a seed giveaway that gets a family growing at home, a stall at Great Big Green Week, a workshop for a young person. We also partner with East Hendred Parish Council on community campaigns.
You don't need to be an environmental expert. You don't need gardening experience. And you don't need to commit hours every week.
